Including Leaning Halfblown, Broken Trees & Hung Up Trees

This course covers multiple wind-blown and broken stems, typically in a windblown crop situation.

Pre-requisites: the following are all required:

• Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance & Crosscutting
• Level 2 Award in Felling Trees (up to 380mm)
• Level 3 Award in Felling & Processing Trees (over 380mm)
• Level 3 Award in Severing Uprooted or Windblown Trees using a Chainsaw

Course Content

• Identify the risk assessment and emergency procedures on the site
• Select and prepare equipment required for the safe and effective removal of windblown trees
• Plan a systematic approach to the work to ensure that no unstable trees or root plates are overhanging the cutting position
• Process multiple windblown trees
• Fell leaning, half blown and hung trees
